FAQ
How do you work?
Each of our agents has their own methodologies, but as a rule, we represent the writer to publishing houses in finding the best fit for each of your projects. Before that, we work with our clients to determine the direction of their careers, assist in optimizing their book proposals, and ensure their manuscripts are adequately prepared for submission.
Do you represent new, unpublished authors?
Yes. There’s plenty of opportunity for new authors and we’re excited to find up-and-coming voices.
What do you look for in new nonfiction writers?
Credentials are the most important factor in determining whether we take on a non-fiction writer. Ensure your query and book proposal clearly emphasize your credentials. Why are you in particular suited to writing this book? Beyond that, publishers are looking for good media exposure/author platforms. What can you do to help promote your book?
Do you accept queries?
Use our submission form and follow the instructions therein. We receive a large volume of queries and will respond if we are interested in your project. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee a specific time frame.
For first-time fiction authors, the project must be complete before you query us.
What do you look for in new fiction writers?
Voice, story, solid writing. The voice should be distinct, the story should be well-structured and fresh, and the characters should feel nuanced and capture our attention.
What makes a query stand out?
Hook us quickly. Show us you know how to tell a story by seizing our interest in the first paragraph of your query or synopsis. What makes your book special? Sell it to us, and be mindful of length.

Know your market. Be specific in your references and reasonings why your manuscript would appeal to particular readers. Provide two or three well-thought-out examples of similar books.
